A Professional Immigration Case Assessment provides an individualized professional review of an existing Canadian immigration or refugee matter. BVI reviews the information and documents available for the case to identify material issues, risks, gaps, uncertainties and questions that may require further attention.
The assessment can be relevant when you need to understand your current position before deciding what to do next. Depending on the matter, the record may include prior applications or submissions, decisions and notices, a Basis of Claim (BOC), documentary evidence, hearing-related materials, CBSA or PRRA documents, Humanitarian and Compassionate considerations, or information relevant to a second opinion. Each immigration or refugee procedure has its own requirements, so the assessment focuses on the circumstances and record of the individual case rather than providing a generic answer.
BVI delivers the professional assessment in a Written Assessment Report, identifying the principal issues found in the review, matters that may require attention and considerations for potential next steps within the agreed professional scope. The current fee is CAD 250 + applicable HST. Any additional professional work is separately scoped and agreed.
